Transport & Logistics Specialist
The Opportunity
Join Hitachi Energy as a Transport & Logistics Specialist and play a key role in managing the entire end-to-end purchasing process.

You will set the budget both in Tender and in Project Execution as well as shipping Heavy-Lift equipment globally. You will act as the main interface between internal stakeholders, customers, and freight forwarders. You’ll work in line with established quality, safety, and compliance standards, ensuring everything you do meets both internal guidelines and legal requirements.
How you’ll make an impact:
Act as Project Manager for Transport, Trade, and Logistics, ensuring adherence to KPIs for safety, quality, cost, delivery, innovation, and sustainability.
Proactively support project and logistics planners, and address transport challenges with suppliers.
Develop, plan, and implement Transport and Logistics strategy focusing on creating E2E transport budgets as input for tenders, optimizing transport portfolio, costs, quality and minimizing the risks.
Oversee transportation logistics for worldwide projects, including feasibility, budgeting, planning, sourcing, contracting, and negotiation, while also evaluating road surveys, storage areas, port capacities, and technical solutions for efficient lashing and lifting plans.
Investigate and improve transport quality and drive continuous improvement projects to mitigate them.
Collaborate cross-functionally to mitigate risk, support HVDC site design, and interact with stakeholders tender and project execution.
Ensure shipping compliance with all local and Global Regulations, project timelines and transportation budget.

Your background
Proven experience and background in Heavy‑Lift transport and sourcing, site operations and shipping, with hands‑on responsibility for cargos exceeding 200 tons.
Experience delivering large, complex projects end-to-end, from tendering and planning through execution and final delivery, is an advantage.
Curiosity and sense of ownership, with the confidence to challenge yourself and improve existing ways of working.
Energetic, motivated and self-confident team player with communicative and collaborative skills, with experience in multicultural and challenging global business environments.
Very good administration skills, as well as strong analytical and organizational skills, even under stress and pressure.
Very good analytical and problem solving skills, able to manage multiple priorities in parallel and perform effectively in ambiguous environments.
Fluent in English is required.

How you'll make an impact
To drive all SCM activities for the appointed portfolio of material. With the main focus on material availability, quality and cost.
Support the Factory Supply Chain Manager by streamlining daily operations and alleviating workload through proactive collaboration and efficient task management.
Define and implement local sourcing strategies in alignment with regional goals.
Develop and maintain the supply base, focusing on quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
Conduct supplier evaluations and drive improvement projects as needed.
Identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with category teams and quality specialists.
Establish and update agreements with major suppliers, including pricing and purchase terms, to meet business directives.

Your background

You possess excellent communication, networking, and interpersonal skills—fostering collaboration and trust across diverse teams and suppliers.

A degree in Engineering is preferred. Experience in Supply Chain Management or Logistics is a plus
Proficiency in MS tools like Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI, and familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP is advantageous.
Good knowledge in Swedish and proficiency in English is required.

How you’ll make an impact

Your background
Passion for leadership: You have a genuine interest in empowering individuals and care for team growth. You will manage a senior team of 15 engineers and previous experience as a people manager is a great advantage.
As minimum a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, software engineering or another related field.
Technology focus: You balance a passion for leadership with a strong interest in technology. Knowledge or previous experience in HVDC Control & Protection Software products is beneficial but not mandatory.
Strong communication skills: You are engaging, articulate, and adept at using digital tools to collaborate effectively across global teams.
People oriented: you can easily empathise with people within the team as well as inside the organization, as you operate in a cross functional environment.
Problem-solving mindset: You are curious and open to new ideas, continuously improving processes and work methods in a proactive way to enhance outcomes.
Accountability: You manage deadlines, budgets, and risk with a strong sense of responsibility, making decisions confidently when needed.
Global perspective: Fluency in English is required to work effectively in an international setting. Swedish language skills are a bonus but not a requirement.
